Job Summary

Responsible for testing, troubleshooting and repair assembly on computers. To include, but not limited to, notebooks, chromebooks, desktops and/or monitors.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Disassembly and reassembly of computers and peripherals
  • Chromebook repairs including OS reloads
  • CSS application process repairsSuccessfully test, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware/software issues.
  • Ability to identify, document and report quality issues.
  • Good motor skills and the ability to use hand tools and other small equipment to successfully perform the repairs.
  • Requires a high and consistent throughput on repairs.
  • Attention to detail is necessary.
  • Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective math and reading skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under close supervision and follow directions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them.
  • Strong technical knowledge required.
  • Previous repair experience is necessary.

Education and Expereience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Computer Science field, preferred
  • A+ Certification is preferred, but not required

Schedule Requirements

  • Expected to perform work functions at the office 5 days per week. work is performed full- time, Monday through Friday during standard working hours; day shift 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, must be able to work a shift schedule that falls during these workdays and hours.
  • Flexible hours with the possibility of overtime/weekends.
  • Ability to maintain a 96% (rolling 13-week) attendance average.

Physical Requirement and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, lift, see, hear, and climb stairs within the facility. The employee is frequently required to use hands while using repair tools, for keyboarding and for telephone operation. Fine motor skills are necessary to perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must regularly lift or move 45 pounds. Ability to communicate with peers and supervisors via telephone and in person. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in ambient room temperatures with lighting and traditional warehousing equipment as found in typical, climate-controlled warehouse and office environments. Warehousing equipment such as person lifts and forklifts may be present. Watching and listening for traffic is required.

Safety Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to safely use and operate hand tools including; soldering tools, plyers, vacuums/blowers, and screwdrivers. Maintaining equipment could include the use of chemicals including cleaning and greasing / de-greasing agents. Due to the use of tools, the presence of heavy equipment, and use of chemicals / cleaning agents, this position is considered safety sensitive.
